Cocoa production chain. Case study. Rural women in Tibú Norte de Santander
Description
The primary source of information for this dataset comes from a total of ten interviews with rural women in the municipality of Tibú, Department of Norte de Santander, Colombia. The criteria for selecting the interviewees were: they were of legal age, live in this municipality, are Colombian nationals, live in different houses, share a rural neighbourhood, grow cocoa and combine this work with unpaid work such as housework and care, are in the first link of the production chain, and may be victims of the armed conflict or gender-based violence, displaced by the armed conflict and/or returnees from Venezuela. Access to the interviewed population was through the Asociación Hogares Juveniles Campesinos, Norte de Santander Regional Office. The interviews were carried out during the month of March 2024, each interviewee signed the informed consent form and the names used in the stories quoted are codes.
